Train the Trainer
Shell LiveWIRE is the flagship enterprise development programme of Shell. The programme strengthens local economies across the globe by promoting entrepreneurship and developing entrepreneurs.
The Shell LiveWIRE programme was initiated in 1982 in the United Kingdom and has been replicated in 24 countries where Shell operates over the last three decades.
In Nigeria, the programme was launched on 27th March 2003 to provide access to training, business development services and start-up capital to establish and expand youth-owned businesses.
To date, the programme has trained 6,742 Niger Delta youths in enterprise development and management. Out of this number, 3,505 young people were further assisted to set up their own businesses through start-up awards.
These young entrepreneurs have created employment opportunities for others, thereby contributing to the wider reduction of youth unemployment and poverty in the region.
You can read more about the programme on this website.
This training has been put in place to support the delivery of the programme modules by partner trainers in 2014 and beyond. This is in line with our strategy to expand the programme nationally as well as introduce new content that has been developed for the programme.
